The North East Learning Trust was founded by The Academy at Shotton Hall in Peterlee in 2015.

Our multi-academy Trust exists to give children across the North East of England the very best education and is founded on the deeply held principle that every child has the right to an excellent education.


Introducing the Ashington Academy Behaviour and Attendance Hub
NELT school, Ashington Academy, has been named a Department for Education 'Attendance and Behaviour Hub'. As a lead school, they’re supporting others to improve behaviour and attendance rates through tried and tested strategies that have already helped dozens of schools through their previous role as a national attendance hub.

NELT in a nutshell
Formed in 2015, the North East Learning Trust is a multi-academy trust founded by The Academy at
Shotton Hall in Peterlee. We are a family of 13 schools and we also deliver initial teacher training through our outstanding school-based provider, North East SCITT, to ensure new teachers are trained to our own
high standards.
All schools in the Trust share a simple, shared vision - that every child experiences excellence every day. We are all committed to working together to ensure that every child thrives in a safe, stimulating
environment where they develop a deep love of learning that will stay with them for their whole lives.
